Julie Fellows is a Colorado native, who grew up skiing, horseback riding and competing in a number of sports. She was drawn to entrepreneurship early in her teens, and created a few profitable small businesses while in high school. She was a high achieving student, and continues to be a lifelong learner. She has a love for self-discovery and independence gained through travel; starting early, she purchased a Euro-rail pass and experienced 7 countries in Europe solo the summer she was 17. Julie is a graduate of the Leadership Ascent Executive Leadership Program and the Leeds College of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She recently earned a certificate from Harvard for Cybersecurity - Managing Risk in the Information Age.
Throughout Julie's adult life she has enjoyed a career in the financial services industry, and has become a trusted advisor to CEOs, executive management and boards of public and private companies, as well as global regulatory agencies. She participates in a professional women’s mentoring circle, and is a member of Denver’s Wise Women Counsel. Currently, Julie is Cofounder and CEO leading BankWyse, a de novo Special Purpose Depository Institution (SPDI) as it moves to become one of the first regulated financial institutions providing secure digital asset custody and integrated fiat and digital asset banking services to commercial clients. Additionally, Julie serves as: an Independent Director for Namasté Solar, a solar energy company pioneering conscientious business practices; a Member of the Advisory Board for the Global Digital Asset & Cryptocurrency Association (GDCA), a global self-regulatory association for the digital asset & cryptocurrency industry established to guide the evolution of digital assets, cryptocurrencies, and the underlying blockchain technology within a regulatory framework; and a Member of the Advisory Board for the Global Food Exchange, and its subsidiary, The World Food Bank, a privately held corporation revolutionizing the world’s agricultural systems through innovations in finance and food production. Previously, Julie was Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at SquareTwo Financial Corporation. This followed nearly 15 years at KeyCorp, where she was Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management for Key Equipment Finance as well as Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management and Chief Compliance Officer for the global Key National Finance organization. In these corporate environments, Julie was highly respected for her excellence as an innovative and valuable leader, developing people, teams, and complex programs.
Concurrent with her business life Julie has cultivated a rich and nourishing practice in mindfulness and inner development. Julie is a student of Yogic philosophy, and other eastern and western philosophies. Authors and teachers including Drs Brene Brown, Pema Chodrin, and Tara Brach influence her courageous approach to living compassionately and consciously.
Along with her business acumen and intellectual curiosity, Julie believes in maintaining a healthy relationship to one’s body in order to support high achievement in the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of life. She incorporates Ayurvedic wisdom in her life and her work using nutrition and energy balancing practices to nourish the entire self, manage stress and improve overall health. Julie is a certified Yoga Instructor (YTT Yoga Alliance) and a life-long athlete, who enjoys skiing, hiking, biking, weight-training, and rock climbing. Julie loves travelling and experiencing new cultures. She is Mom to two amazing boys, who are well on their way to becoming fine young men. A beacon of light, Julie lives life with vitality, and a joyful, positive attitude that is inspiring and contagious.
